I've always been a big fan of melancholy melodic love songs. This Esther Phillips song is no exception! This song was introduced to me via Track 15 on mixed cd: "Nothing Serious 4" per my cool cat friend at work.
If you're looking for a lovesick Esther Phillips song, look no further than the song Cherry Red -- from her album on Kudu records, and not the schmaltzy big band version she did later when the song was a hit. Some great blues guitar playing, plus Ron Carter playing upright bass. Let me know and we could exchange or something.
